The Rats (Rats, #1)The Rats by James Herbert

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Gory, Macabre, Ruthless in their determination to attack and kill and I wouldn’t like to meet one that size (ordinary size rats are bad enough). The giant black rats trawl the streets of East London looking for flesh (animal or human) to munch. This book is the first of 3 from James Herbert about rats roaming London. It’s gruesome and gross but definitely not scary I loved it and can’t wait to read the other two not to mention the other books he’s written esp the David Ash series.
I liked it and you’ll like it too.

The HobbitThe Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is incredibly well written. The imagination of J.R.R. Tolkien is probably beyond compare.
This book has everything you could want in a piece of fantasy fiction, Goblins, Dwarves, Hobbits, Dragons, a Wizard, a shape shifting man, adventure, mystery, suspense and a lonely mountain.
Read this before you read “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy to make sure you read the books in order and also get the most out of them.
oh by the way this book ain’t just for the kids.
